高中理科科目
這個(gè)話題一直以來(lái)是大家望而生畏的,對(duì)于理科科目的理解確實(shí)是比較模糊,或者說(shuō)是不能很好闡述的。對(duì)于目前正在高中學(xué)習(xí)的烤鴨們,這個(gè)話題雖然看起來(lái)比較熟悉,可是具體哪一門科目以及對(duì)于該科目的理解是甚少的,甚至用中文都很難去表述,再加上相關(guān)專業(yè)詞匯的難度,更不用說(shuō)用英文侃侃而談了。而對(duì)于有工作的成人烤鴨們來(lái)說(shuō),該話題更是難上加難,畢竟已經(jīng)離開高中生活很久,對(duì)于很多學(xué)科的知識(shí)已經(jīng)淡忘,對(duì)于這個(gè)話題如果不做準(zhǔn)備,連6分都是很難達(dá)到的。不過(guò),這個(gè)話題近卻備受考官的青睞,并且有所變化,從開始的Ascience course in high school演變成近的新題A physical experiment you like, 顯而易見,從原來(lái)的比較發(fā)散型的話題,學(xué)生有多種選擇,包括數(shù)學(xué),化學(xué),物理,甚至是計(jì)算機(jī),轉(zhuǎn)變成非常單一而且學(xué)術(shù)性非常強(qiáng)的話題,這要求學(xué)生本身對(duì)于物理有足夠的認(rèn)識(shí),對(duì)于物理實(shí)驗(yàn)更要有所了解。在高中時(shí)我們?cè)?jīng)做過(guò)無(wú)數(shù)的實(shí)驗(yàn),不過(guò)能夠信手拈來(lái)描述的實(shí)驗(yàn)相信大家一定存在很大的困惑,我們不僅要挑出自己熟悉的,而且還要確保自己能夠用英文描述出來(lái),在這里筆者想給大家拿出一個(gè)實(shí)例進(jìn)行分析和說(shuō)明:

大多數(shù)的烤鴨們一定對(duì)這個(gè)實(shí)驗(yàn)印象深刻,在小學(xué)或者初中的時(shí)候我們?cè)谖锢碚n上做過(guò)多項(xiàng)關(guān)于放大鏡的物理實(shí)驗(yàn),比如鉆木取火,燃燒火柴頭等等,小小的一個(gè)放大鏡給我們帶來(lái)了很多快樂和驚喜,也讓我們感受到了物理原理的實(shí)用性,那要如何把這個(gè)實(shí)驗(yàn)合理地展開呢?這需要烤鴨們對(duì)于這個(gè)實(shí)驗(yàn)的理解和一定的詞匯補(bǔ)充。接下來(lái),我還是按照之前一直建議學(xué)生采用的思路,以開場(chǎng),故事展開以及結(jié)尾來(lái)闡述。
開場(chǎng):正如我之前所說(shuō),對(duì)于大部分烤鴨們來(lái)說(shuō),物理這門學(xué)科難度高不明白,而且很無(wú)聊。在口語(yǔ)考試的第二部分cue card中,烤鴨們?nèi)绻肽玫?/b>6分以上的分?jǐn)?shù),就必須要**自己表述的流利性,如果要**自己的流利性,一個(gè)impressive的開場(chǎng)是至關(guān)重要的。相信很多烤鴨們,尤其是女生,對(duì)于這樣的課程更多的是恐懼的心理,我們大可開誠(chéng)布公的開始:
Since from mymiddle school, physics classes have almost driven me crazy as it is such a hardcourse where the clever and talented teachers talk about clever things includingtheories of particles, quantum theory, relativity and string theory that arebeyond my imagination and out of my reach. All what I can pick up to describeis a relatively practical and simple but extremely impressive physicalexperiment that I did in the laboratory with my classmates in middle school.
展開:按照卡片上的問(wèn)題要求,烤鴨們需要對(duì)于該物理實(shí)驗(yàn)進(jìn)行具體說(shuō)明,比如說(shuō)這個(gè)實(shí)驗(yàn)如何進(jìn)行,結(jié)果如何。聽起來(lái)難度系數(shù)很高,因?yàn)樵诒硎鲞^(guò)程中我們毋庸置疑會(huì)涉及到物理方向的專有詞匯,但是烤鴨們不能忘記的是在口語(yǔ)表達(dá)過(guò)程中,我們要充分靈活運(yùn)用已有的詞匯去說(shuō)一些自己熟悉的東西,至于不了解的根本就沒有必要去涉及,因?yàn)槲覀儾豢赡茉诳荚嚨哪莻€(gè)瞬間擠出我們不知道的單詞,分?jǐn)?shù)必然也不會(huì)理想。在故事展開的過(guò)程中,為了增加感染力和影響考官,我們更多的是要做到Emotional Expressions:
It was the experiment on themagnifying glass which is an amazing gadget to children. I cannot remember whattheory the teacher wanted to reinforce exactly, but it was really exciting andfabulous. Before the experiment, every one of us was all distributed a matchhead and a magnifying glass. And we were required to get closer to window wherewe could get good sunlight. I was confused about what was going on at verybeginning. But when the teacher instructed us to get the match head in focus onthe same side of the lens of the magnifying glass and when all the light comingfrom one spot on one side of lens was bent, the match head was concentratedthrough a single point on the other side. As the sunlight was pretty hot, to mysurprise, the match head suddenly spontaneously combusted. The whole class wasfull of excitement and happiness.
結(jié)尾:在cue card的結(jié)尾部分,對(duì)于大部分話題,學(xué)生的收尾能力還是欠缺的,因?yàn)樗麄兏嗟氖歉≡诒砻嫒フf(shuō)明正面性,而這恰恰是很難去深挖的,尤其是對(duì)于電影,音樂,人物。朗閣海外考試研究中心建議考生們說(shuō)說(shuō)自己從中的受益,這往往是更有感染力的,也更有利于烤鴨們的發(fā)揮。
This experiment told me how themagnifying glass worked. What is ridiculous, I even could not stop wondering ifwas left behind on an isolated island, all what I would need might be themagnifying glass. And the thing that got me hooked with the experiment is mycuriosity on physics which always reveals a mysterious world which we know verylittle.
