1. Avoid grad school in the liberal arts. 不要進文科類的研究生院。

One in five English Phd's find stable university jobs, and the degree won't help outside the university.
五分之一的英語博士能找到穩(wěn)定的大學(xué)職位，但如果走出校門，這個學(xué)位就沒什么用處了。

2. Skip the law-school track. 別上法學(xué)院。

Lawyers are the most depressed of all professionals. Lawyers are always acting on behalf of someone else. Suicide is among the leading causes of premature death among lawyers.
律師是所有職業(yè)中壓抑的。律師總是代表別人去爭利。自殺是律師中第一號非正常死亡的原因。

3. Play a sport. 參加體育運動。

People who play sports earn more money than couch potatoes, and women executives who played sports attribute much of their career success to their athletic experience. You don't need to be great at sports, you just need to be part of a team.

7. Learn to give a compliment. 學(xué)會贊美他人。
The best compliments are specific, so "good job" is not good. Practice on your professors. If you give a good compliment the recipient will think you're smarter: Big payoff in college, but bigger payoff in the work world.

8. Start a business in your dorm room. 從宿舍開始做生意。

It's cheap, Google and Yahoo are dying to buy your website, and it's better than washingdishes in the cafeteria. Note to those who play poker online until 4a.m.: Gambling isn't a business. It's an addiction.

Jobs do not fall in your lap, you have to chase them. Especially a good one. Use spread sheets to track your progress. And plan early.
