An Introduction:
Hi everyone, my name's Mike. I have been living and teaching English in China since the beginning of 2014. My original plan was to stay here for 6 months or so and then go back home. But I fell in love with this country and now I don't want to go home!
My life is pretty simple, a cup of coffee and some time to chill out and play games is all it takes to make me happy. My lifestyle is probably not as healthy as it should be as I don’t really enjoy doing any sports but I love cars and motorsport, especially Formula One.
Students always ask us for hints or “cheats” to learn English better or faster. I really wish there was some but it takes a lot of time, energy and most importantly, passion. One or two lessons a week is never enough, you need to welcome English into your daily life and try to use it as much as you can. My Chinese is terrible for one simple reason: I’m lazy! I don't try hard enough and I don't speak it every day.
So maybe the only 'secret' then that I can give you is this: Don't be afraid to make mistakes. If you are not making mistakes then you’re not pushing yourself hard enough. And more importantly... just SPEAK!
